Last-minute negotiations are taking place ahead of Ryan Garcia’s weigh-in before his Saturday bout at Barclays Center in Brooklyn with Devin Haney.

Garcia, according to Dan Rafael, has weighed in at 143.2lbs, 3.2lbs above the super lightweight title limit, ahead of the ceremonial weigh-in due to take place at 2pm ET.

BoxingScene understands Ryan Garcia is on course to agree to pay $500,000 per pound he’s overweight.

All week, many have speculated that he would struggle to hit the 140-pound limit, with BoxingScene’s Declan Warrington saying he felt Garcia looked to be a welterweight at the start of fight week.

“Ryan has weighed-in over his contractual weight. He will honor the handshake made at the final press conference yesterday. We have a fight,” said a Golden Boy spokesman.

Garcia, Haney has subsequently tweeted, has has adhered to the $500,000 stipulation, posting: “Ryan honored the 500k per pound.”
